Last Sunday our team was finalized - totaling 17 people, including 10 returning people and 7 newbies. We can't wait to share Belize and our precious brothers and sisters in Christ down there with them.

We also had our first fundraiser - the annual Easter breakfast. God blessed us beyond belief with over $2,300 raised! What a great start. So far we've raised about $11,500 of $23,970 and it's not even the halfway mark yet.

Speaking of raising funds .... upcoming this Saturday, April 13 is Lakeside PCA's annual church garage sale, with 100% of proceeds going towards our trip. The team will spend Friday night organizing donated items, and Saturday from 7am - 2pm running the garage sale. Stop by to say hi and support our trip if you find something neat to buy.

It's a new year and time to start planning a new mission trip! Lakeside PCA sent our team to Belize last year with the intention of building a relationship with a church down there whom we could serve with multiple times. This year we will be returning not only to Belize but to Xaibe to further our relationship with the precious brothers & sisters in Christ whom we met last year.

Our trip this year will be July 6 - 13, 2013 to Corozal Town, Belize and we will once again be serving in Xaibe. Our project this year is still in the works but will most likely be very similar to last year - construction and VBS.

I am quite excited not only to see these wonderful people again but also by the Lakesiders who are eager to serve. Although our mission field is our community in Texas, it is always good to broaden our understanding of the world and challenge ourselves. This trip is a great challenge of our faith as we trust God will provide the funds necessary, safety, and give us the ability to clearly share Jesus' love with everyone we meet.
